5 Ways to Customize Your Vehicle's Exterior

The one thing more thrilling than driving off the lot in your new car is being able to personalize your car to match your personality and your driving needs. With customization, you can change everything from your car’s performance to the comfort of your driver’s seat. However, these five tips will have you rocking a new vehicle exterior and catching eyes wherever you go.

Tint the Windows

Window tinting can provide your car with a cool look that can be achieved by yourself in one afternoon. You could also choose to have the tinting performed professionally. Be aware that window tinting, particularly of the front side windows, is governable by law for safety reasons. Check your state laws before adding this customization.

Try Custom Paints and Screen Printing

Most likely, your vehicle came off the lot with a standard color. You can make your vehicle stand out by choosing a customized color or striping. With today’s screen printing technology through businesses like Schilling Graphics, you can add designs to your windows. You can also screen print decals designed to fit over just one door or over your entire car.

Choose Oversized Wheels

By choosing aftermarket wheels and rims, you can change the look of your vehicle’s exterior while also improving performance. Depending on the size of the wheel chosen, you can improve stability, balance and turning. This is most likely a job for the experts who will be able to choose a size and style that will work well for your vehicle.

Add a Spoiler

A simple spoiler can cost $100 or less while a customized spoiler can cost in the thousands. A spoiler adds a sporty look to a car, and many can be added as part of a simple DIY project. The right spoiler can improve the aerodynamics of your car, helping you reach higher speeds with less air resistance.

Add a Ground Effects Kit

A full ground effects kit can change the entire appearance of your car, making it look sporty, powerful and exclusive. A full kit will include low-riding bumpers and fenders, side skirts and corner guards to wrap your vehicle entirely. These kits make your car look as if it rides low to the ground while also improving aerodynamics.

If you are imagining that all off this customization is going to break your budget, then think again. Many options cost around $100 or less depending on how simple you want the design to be. For most options, the choice of how much you want to spend will be yours alone and will depend on the upgrade level of aftermarket equipment you buy and on whether you have choose professional installation.
