5 Car Models That'll Give You the Best Bang for Your Buck

Are you shopping around for a car at dealerships like Bridge City Auto Sales but have to stay within a certain budget? Many car buyers these days cannot afford to shell out thousands of dollars for top-of-the-line high-tech trims. However, you can still find a few cars out there in today's market that will give you a real bang for your buck. If you're looking for ideas, give some consideration to the following five car models.

1. Honda Civic

If gas mileage is something you're concerned about but do not want to compromise on power, the Honda Civic (which is now in its tenth generation) offers fantastic gas mileage that generally ranges in the mid-30s for a combined EPA. You can choose between a coupe, sedan, or hatchback. Even the older generations of Honda Civics are known to be reliable, durable, safe, and generally easy for mechanics to repair.

2. Subaru Forester

As far as compact SUVs go, the Subaru Forester has been one of the most popular models for the past 20 years. Now in its fourth generation, the Forester is known for being a fantastic off-roading vehicle, especially since it comes standard with all wheel drive (AWD). Additionally, since 2014, the fourth generation has received continuous safety upgrades, including the comprehensive EyeSight Driver Assist System. The Forester is very competitively priced and is more affordable than the top-performing Honda CR-V. You can get state-of-the-art technology in even slightly used Foresters from the early 2010s.

3. Nissan Quest

If you have a family or a lot of gear to tote around, you might be thinking of getting a minivan. But which one gives the most bang for your buck? One of the best (yet somewhat underrated) minivans on the market is the Nissan Quest. While it might not be as high-tech as the Honda Odyssey, the Quest has a magnificent powertrain that features one of the best transmissions you can find on a minivan for the price. You will be hard-pressed to find smoother handling or gentler ride quality in other vehicles in this class.

4. Nissan Murano

Another Nissan makes this list of the best car models for the buck. The Murano is a crossover SUV that fits the needs of most families and is also a solid choice if you are looking for something athletic. The Murano has consistently been given great safety ratings by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It has also consistently been given high performance ratings by mechanics and car connoisseurs. The Murano is known for its speedy acceleration, steady handling, and high-quality interior design.

5. Toyota Prius

Finally, we have one of the best-selling "green" vehicles, the Toyota Prius. These vehicles are regarded as some of the most fuel-efficient, spacious, and comfortable vehicles on the market. Additionally, the Prius typically receives stellar safety scores, and even some of the slightly older models seem pretty high-tech. While the earlier models are not quite as refined as some of the more recent Prius models, they are still considered to be the top performers in the hybrid class.

You don't have to buy new to feel like you're riding in style. These five models prove that you can get a lot for your money. Try taking one for a test drive at your local dealership and see for yourself which of these vehicles might be right for you.
