What NOT To Do If You Want More "Likes" On Your Dealership's Facebook Page

What are some of the things to avoid if you want to get more "Likes" for your dealership's Facebook Page?  Here are a few that I found thanks to a Facebook link posted by Scott Monty...

Many thanks to Scott Monty for sharing the following link on Facebook, which is where we found this gem:

My primary purpose in sharing this humor laden look at social media content is to emphasize that "Consumer Engagement" does not happen from posting inventory on Twitter or transposing ad copy to a dealership Facebook page... The best, most meaningful and highest ROI consumer engagement comes from posting real-world stories, interesting photos, videos and self deprecation that establishes the genuine humanity within your dealership's organization along with creating desire among people using social media to meet your dealership's employees... yes, the PEOPLE in your dealership, because they want to do business with people they LIKE!

Sometimes I find as much value, and sometimes more, in the comments under the posts here.  We have some great and wise people here on ADM who contribute more in comments than in posts.  Does anyone else find that to be true?

Ralph, I am so glad you posted this! The Oatmeal is one of my favorite humorous-yet-smart sites, and being a big social media nerd, I loved this! I also completely agree with your comment about the human element of the dealership being the goal of social media and being the source of a truly engaged audience that is what I always suggest! And Thomas, I agree with you, too - that we just need to learn from our mistakes and move on. That's one of the beauties of social media, that you can pretty easily test strategies, keep the ones that work and ditch the ones that don't! One thing the Oatmeal forgot to mention was the copious amount of cats being used to foster engagement on social media.. I just don't get it! :)

@Ralph - Loved the infographic but loved your comment below even better.... especially, "Consumer Engagement" does not happen from posting inventory on Twitter or transposing ad copy to a dealership Facebook page... The best, most meaningful and highest ROI consumer engagement comes from posting real-world stories, interesting photos, videos and self deprecation that establishes the genuine humanity within your dealership's organization along with creating desire among people using social media to meet your dealership's employees... yes, the PEOPLE in your dealership, because they want to do business with people they LIKE!"

Your dealership has, or should have, a personality of its own. Be real!

Good post, Some of the best examples out there today once suffered from "cutest baby syndrome"...Social has now got some history to look back on....We didn't think anything of our polyester suits when we wore them either....It is time to look back and change our style for many of us going forward....This infographic does a nice job, Thanks.
