ADM Professional Community Masthead: Place Your Vote for 1 of 5 Designs Submitted by New Premier Sponsor!

It is time to reveal our new ADM Professional Community premier sponsor... Can I get a drum roll? Check out these new page masthead designs to see who it is. Although I am not a big supporter of designing anything by committee, since this is a real community and we have a new corporate benefactor that will be providing us with lots of resources, I figured we should all take a look at the new ADM Professional Community Masthead designed they have come up with and get some discussion on which one we should go with... Add your votes in the comments for design #1, #2, #3, #4 or #5... We need to pick one quickly!

Gotta be number one! The black makes the masthead jump right out.

I like design #1 the best. It has the most impact. The colors look a bit too pastel on the others, they don't seem as serious.

#1 with the original lightening bolt logo sounds like the best of these options. Personally I would rather start with a very slight revision of the current header band. Maybe tone down the present yellow band below the red band. The lightening bolt, red, blue and yellow header has become your brand identity. It doesn't really matter what it is as long as you stick with it. That's what your audience are most familiar with. Familiarity breeds comfort.

eBay is a good example of a rather gawdy image that became a world class brand in its own right, without much change. Most successful brands were cultivated not designed.

Great feedback.. Thank you! I like what Keith Shetterly suggested about #1 with the lightning bolt logo instead of the EKG graph! #1 and #5 seem to be the closest to what people like... @David, no way do we give up the branding! I just wanted to take advantage of Cars.com's offer to use their professional design resources, especially since my own "homies" are forbidden from participating. I also like the idea of #5 with an actual logo on the left side, but I keep going back to #1 for the same reasons Finney likes it.

Let me see if I can get Ken and Laura at Cars.com to revise #1 and #5 using different logos, something closer to the current lightning bolt logo, which I have a sentimental affinity for, but will only explain in person!

Like layout of 5 but not so much the colors - could be bolder. However, it is inline with current logos. I also like #1 just cause I like reverse color text. But I am diftferent. I don't care for lightening bolt as it is designed. I like the design on your facebook logo more of a graph than lightening bolts....

I guess I mess the annoucement that we were getting "sponsor" .. can we still talk about them if need me? No just kidding.

None... (Sorry Ralph). You know I'm not one to hold back. Take #1 and your original design back to the drawing board. Are you tossing your colors, logo and branding at the same time as adding sponsor in the header ("masthead")?

Almost feels like the introduction of "New Coke"... (don't remember that one going well)...

Happy New Year and best of luck with whatever decision you go with... congratulations once again for bringing such a great resource to the automotive digital community. DTG

#1 or #5(sans Dots)

I like #1 for best font but the dark background could clash with the rest of the page so #5 would probably work better. The lightning bolt is my favorite logo out of these.
