What do you think?
A member of my team sent this picture to me this morning:
For those of you with direct reports, how important is it to your department that you are seen as the "leader" as opposed to the "boss?" Is there ever a case that being the "boss" is beneficial, or is it always a detriment to the…Continue
For those of you that attended Brian Benstock's excellent session at AutoCon, here is a visual aide:
Brian's point was that focusing on one KPI at the expense of others is NOT success. If this guy's biceps represent gross and his calf's represent turn, there is an obvious imbalance for management to…Continue

As an active participant in the forums I hope you'll give me a little leeway on a semi-promotional post
We are trying something a little different this week in advance of the busy conference season by doing a virtual "dropping of the business card" to win an Ipad. I was asked a couple days ago by two different prominent people in the industry the following question: Can you outsource your reputation to a vendor? I’m of the opinion that with a proper definition of the term “reputation,” the short answer is, “No.”
What is “Your Reputation?”

I'm not commenting one way or the other on recent discussions regarding Carfax's advertising campaigns. The only thing that I will say is that it sure has garnered a lot of interest from the community. If dealers are being represented poorly in an ad campaign they should respond and vehemently defend themselves, right? Makes sense, until you see this...
