Yeah, the whole economy tanked in the last year. Banking and housing led the way but autos may have been the hardest hit vertical other than the American individual itself.

I've often wondered when, or even if
-- interactive advertising would have its Lemon Moment. I'm referring to the day when the classic Volkswagen ad first appeared.
If you aren't familiar with the ad, it was a fairly stark print piece. It featured the VW Beetle on a white background with the word "Lemon" written under it. The copy told the story: the particular car in… Continue

Creativity in the Service Department
A few weekends ago I took my vehicle in for routine service at the local dealer. As expected they greeted me in front of the service bay, opened the door for me even offered me a cup of coffee. During the check in process they asked me for my e-mail address and cell phone number and proceeded to inform me that they would "contact" me when my car was ready to be picked up.
3 hours later I… Continue

February is behind us and a new month is here, for some of you this brings a sigh of relief, for others it is dreadful. I took this picture this morning on my way into the office and wanted to share a few memories. I am certain that all of you can relate to this in one way or another.
These signs in front of HUGE empty lots that cars once filled just kills me...I recall on weekends driving by this dealership and seeing balloons,… Continue

This might as well have been published today!
Selling online advertising for KBB has afforded me the opportunity to meet hundreds of dealer professionals across the nation. My job requires me to deal with the Principle or the GM. Unfortunately in the past 10 months I have had many of my customers close the doors. Feel like a part of America closes every time I hear of a dealer closing their doors, to not take it personal… Continue

For marketers, a steady increase in… Continue

In the sea of boring static banners, stale color schemes, and poorly written marketing messages, it is becoming more clear that dealers who are prepared to showcase their stores with video are standing out in the crowd. Most dealers would agree, if you’re a halfway decent operation you already have compelling TV spots you’ve used to brand your store locally for years. Why not utilize those same assets coupled with the power of the internet to help drive more qualified internet… Continue
