One of the best things about traveling is experiencing how other people run their businesses.
It also allows you to have many different Sales presentations from many different people. This story is about how one motivated, knowledgeable and especially friendly Salesperson made a banana into a bbq pork sandwich.
It’s been 60 days.
Like many, you went to the NADA Convention determined to find the one thing that was going to make a difference in your Dealership this year. You had every intention of making changes and doing something different. You gathered information and then cataloged it. You even made a list of your Dealerships Managers and their responsibilities and revised their Goals based on the new information and training you were about to provide them.
You were ready for…Continue

In Fixed Ops, this person is called the Service Manager.
Typically (when I go into a store that is not profitable), I find the person sitting behind that desk working on everything not related to increasing Profits while believing that they are working on everything related to increasing Profits.
I call it the “Theory of Un-relativity” and it goes like…Continue

In one question, we asked:
It is highly likely that the vast majority of emails that your dealership is sending to customers and prospective clients are being opened on a mobile device. Reports show that mobile email clients are set to surpass desktop and webmail client usage by the end of 2012.
The reports also show that mobile email usage jumps on weekends, when most people are away from work computers. What is…Continue

When you’re planning your dealership’s online marketing strategy, is location a factor? Maybe you’re located near a river, mountain or near the border of a state with no sales tax. Maybe you know there are desirable customers who come from a zip code near you, but those customers have to drive by another same-brand dealership in order to get to your store. Or maybe your OEM program doesn’t give you the flexibility to target certain areas that you’d like to target — but you know your biggest…Continue

Here at Don Graff Automotive we often implement a series of test calls to dealerships in order to assess how well they handle incoming sale’s inquires. These “mystery shopper” calls can tell us what the current aptitude of a dealership is and what problem areas we’ll need to focus upon when it comes to the consulting end of the services we provide. In a perfect world, where every dealership possessed a well-trained staff of business development center employees, each call would be handled…Continue

……..would you let him operate on you? Probably not- yet we still see time and time again people holding “Internet Marketing, Management,
Director and/or Guru” titles in dealerships who have absolutely no right
being at the helm of the Internet Sales Department ship. He or she
interviewed well for the job, threw around the right buzz words and was
convincing enough to get an offer letter. He or she talked a good…
