I just wrote an article on the Super Bowl Chrysler ad.
To me is was probably the single most effective ad to come out of Detroit. Didn't feel like two minutes to me and I watched it 4 times.
What did you think?

You may be surprised to know that the biggest mistake you can make when shopping is to shop the 'best' or 'lowest' priced products. That's right! Buyers mistakingly use price to drive their buying decisions - this is referred to as the price myth and retailers have used the lowest price hook for years to drive traffic to their stores and websites. The single biggest shopping mistake a consumer can make is to base the decision to shop or buy solely on price and I should know as I have… Continue

It is my prediction that the Auto Industry will exceed all expectations of the media and even the auto industry executives. It is my belief that first the competitive nature of the manufacturers will force them to produce products and programs that continue to lure the American consumer back to showrooms, secondly, auto dealers are some of the most determined entrepreneurial force in business today, and lastly the aging fleet of 250 million cars,… Continue

Banks are unable to differentiate between successful car dealers and the automobile industry. treating all dealers the same, assigning high risk labels to everyone, and looking for reasons not extend floor plans and thereby penalizing the successful car dealers in order to balance out their concern about exposure. Successful dealers that depend on borrowed money to grow their inventories, their companies, and ultimately the economy, are unable access… Continue

While I support the creative think of GM and the desire to think out of the box there are many problems with this idea of selling automobiles through Ebay. Selling vehicles on ebay will only validate the need for more sales training by auto dealers not less.
1) GM has used Ebay for a year with Certifified so why pilot this new program in California as GM and dealers would already know the results of this program and all the problems related to… Continue

The media's constant 24 hour chaos coverage is destroying the hopes and dreams of mankind and is THE reason you find your people not motivated enough to get their jobs done. I fear the media's perpetual sensationalizing of bad news more than I do the threat of pandemic flu's, wars and a faltering economy combined. I know they say they want to present all sides and that the public has a right to know everything but notice that 95% of all their coverage… Continue

Say Yes to Life
by Grant Cardone
This past week I was reminded of one of the most important lessons in all of life; in order to live life you have to say yes to life!
In a period of just under 30 hours I participated in the natural childbirth of my first child, Sabrina and then flew to my mother’s home in Louisiana to assist my brother and sisters in moving my mother from the hospital where she had been diagnosed terminal, brought her home, where we sat by her side… Continue

Your financial condition cannot improve by retreating and can only be improved by advancing your production lines.
Americans are being made to believe incorrectly that their financial survival is based only on saving because of the unprecedented commitment to doom and gloom scenarios and constant 24 hour a day screaming encouraging everyone to contract! Case in point-the first two months of 2009 the savings rate in this country went from under 1% to almost 6%, and yet Americans still have… Continue

Price is always a very sensitive issue, especially during times of contraction, when money is tight, consumers are scared and more selective with their money. The first response (incorrectly) is to reduce price in order to make up for less volume. It is a myth that a lower price will sell your product and a formula for disaster.
Unless you are Wal-Mart or the Dollar Store that have entire business models built around very small margins and high volumes, the lowest price model will… Continue

"A recession is a terrible thing to waste so make the most of it", is what I say. No one in their right mind would ask for this severe of an economic contraction as they prove so painful and inflict so much financial damage (as already has been proven). While no one would ever wish this, even on his best competitor, the reality is there are many benefits and opportunities created by them:
1) Competitors so involved in the problems they can't see a solution if it walked in and laid… Continue

AUTO DEALERS CRITICAL TO YOUR CITY’S TAX REVENUE
by Grant Cardone
Retail auto dealers are critical and vital to the survival of your city, county, and state tax revenues. This country’s economy is ultimately more dependent upon the survival of your local auto dealer than even the much publicized auto manufacturers. Without dealers buying and selling product no plan to assist the manufactures will be successful.
Auto dealers generate the much needed revenue to city,… Continue
