How Often Do People Change Cars?

How much influence does ‘change’ have on today’s car shopper? In the past, financial motivations drove the behavior of car shoppers, but our desire to simply change is viewed as the main reason we shop for a car today, according to a new study from the car-leasing marketplace Swapalease.com.

According to results of…

Social Media Matters Because Your Customers Do!

Most discussions about Social Media between automotive advertising agencies and their auto dealer clients center around R.O.I.; or their perceived lack thereof.

I accept responsibility for providing proof of my performance. However, I…

Consumer Furious With Rip Off Car Insurance Prices!

Have you checked your car insurance bill lately? Well I did, and I realized that it is way more money than anyone should pay to stay insured. For that amount, I’d be better off taking my chances and paying for a wreck if it happens. While looking into how much my insurance is compared to others, I…

How to Hit the Hot 40

Believe me, please, when I confess that I understand the psychology and emotions that drive the highs and lows of showroom sales.  Your soul hangs in a valley on slow days yet soars into heaven the moment a fresh up drives onto the lot.

I’ve been there. I’ve lived that, and after all these years I still breathe car sales.

Since those days, however, I’ve learned a few new ideas about selling cars. One of the best tips I can pass along is this: Focus on the hot 40 if you want to…

Find Car for Client ...not Client for Car!

Joe's been "Smartphone" browsing for trucks while he's on his lunch break. He spots a 5 year truck on YOUR dealership's site and thinks it could be the right one.

Joe calls the dealership and a salesman tells him the truck's still available ..."ask for Andy!", says the…

The J.D. Power Reliability Data doesn’t Stack Up with Demand

The most recent car reliability study by J.D. Power shows that the cars have become less reliable. People tend to think that the car quality is not what it used to be a couple of years ago. This survey queried 41,000 people who own cars manufactured in 2011. A three year old car should be almost as good as a new one? It appears not everyone agrees.

Lexus dominates the survey and is listed…

Lessons We Can Learn From the Failure of Blockbuster

As I’m sure you’ve heard, Blockbuster Video has gone out of business.

To Hashtag or Not to Hashtag. That is the question.

Born on Twitter, hashtags are becoming more and more prevalent. For those of you who don’t know what a hashtag even is: “The # symbol, called a hashtag is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize a message,” (www.socialcaffeine.com). Hashtags have even been adopted by Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Instagram.
