Its’ Friday and I thought it’d be fun to show everyone the most common Paid Search mistake I see. This mistake is, by far, the most common and sometimes, it drives me insane thinking about it. This mistake is almost guaranteed to make the shopper hit the back button and wastes your budget dollars. So what am I talking about? I’m talking about…Continue

Our Paid Search team just forwarded this article to me this morning:
It outlines Google's new third-party policy that starts in November 2014. This is a big win for dealers and I'm really glad to see this.

Most vendors just look for an existing page on the site to send the customer to. Or worse, send the customer to the homepage. Instead of choosing a page that already exists, why not actually build landing pages that are tailored specifically for the keyword, intent, and ad that the user clicks…Continue

You did it. You found few companies, did your due diligence and selected a company to handle your PPC efforts. Well, here are some quick ways for you to find out if your account is getting the cold shoulder from your agency. Of course, this all depends if you have access to your account. I really don't know who I'm going to offend on this one. We've been researching so many vendors over the last couple of months that work with chat, lead-gen widgets, and website platforms themselves that we haven't taken the time to explore PPC vendors. Maybe that's why I was blindsided to find out that…Continue

Data supports the fact that consumers are all over the place and successful marketers know that their message…Continue

To paraphrase the immortal movie icon, Ferris Bueller, "The Internet moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
That seems to be the case with many digital marketing practices, particularly in the realm of advertising versus marketing. Oddly…Continue

What? WHAT!?!? There have to be required fields on contact forms, right? There have been required fields on contact forms for two decades. Nothing could have changed so quickly that they have become unnecessary, right?
Actually, they're no longer necessary. In fact, they're a hindrance.…Continue

Facebook’s new Graph Search allows users to search for the best places to grab a bite, buy insurance, find a realtor and get an oil change and everything in-between. Search uses an algorithm that leverages a person’s social connections with brands and businesses to source results.
As well as answering a user’s query, Graph Search offers third-party recommendations from trusted sources (the user’s Facebook friends).

If you suspect that half the money you spend on paid search marketing is wasted but you don’t know which half, this piece was written to help you figure out which. By no means is it an advanced guide, especially with all the advancements and changes taking place this very moment on multiple paid search platforms.
Throughout business school, one of the many die-hard rules of business, regardless of industry or region, was “If it’s not your core competency, outsource it to someone…Continue

Let’s first take a moment to let the cover image of this story wear off a bit. It’s pretty freaky, I know. Once that’s done, let’s talk about how the evolution of search marketing has come to the point that we need to use freaky images to get your attention.
SEO and PPC are very different…Continue

You've probably seen it, it's been passed around many times over the past few months, since it was released November of last year, just a little over 2 months ago. I'm talking about the Mobile Path to Purchase that Neilson put together, the very same study where they found that 36% of mobile…Continue

Most companies are paying to rank for some keywords, but many ignore their own brand name when setting up their pay per click (PPC) system. On the surface, this makes perfect sense. Why would you pay to rank for the one term you’re pretty much guaranteed results for? If your company name is fairly unique, you are going to be on the first page for a search of it, right?…Continue
