Don’t you think there is too much waiting going on? I don’t mean the kind of waiting we do for a burger at the local drive thru or waiting for the mail to arrive.
Heck, we all know that in this…Continue

R this and R that. Which one is the right R for our Dealership? If we concentrate on ROI, what do we lose in ROR? Is it possible to have too much focus on ROR?
Wait. I didn’t explain what I am talking about very well. Ok. ROI is referring to Return On Investment. This “Investment” can be anything. Time, Money, Parts, Labor…anything. And when we…Continue

Exhibiting at the NADA 2012 Convention and Expo in Las Vegas was very interesting. One of the hottest topics was the “third party data access” controversy that has been unfolding over the last few months. But as I see the state of things right now, I’d be willing…Continue
There were a five noteworthy products that I discovered at NADA which have been awarded to PCG Spotlight Award for the 2012 Convention . I will be writing about all five products, and this article is the first in the five-part series.
The first PCG Spotlight Award Winner on my list was the new “Flex” website enhancements to Cobalt websites. The ADP booth was buzzing with activity and the Cobalt team was busy showing just how flexible their new…Continue

(This was a response to a TrueCar Discussion post that I felt worth showing here)
@Jason M...that statement really exemplifies the tremendous misinformation on this entire subject, and a lack of understanding of regulatory issues. Case in point...
When I was heading up a confidential entrepreneurial project for Ford Motor Company over 10 years ago, there was no state license or regulation that was directly applicable to that business model in all the states we were…

Grand Theft Auto – How Citizens Fought for the American Dream
May 14 and 15, 2009 – two days in which Chrysler and General Motors, with the help of the government, literally stole the life’s work from nearly 2,000 business owners.
Two years later, the history from the dealers’ perspective of those days are hitting the bookstores. And they are must reads for anyone associated with the automotive retail…Continue

After spending the last few days at the NADA Convention in San Francisco it was evident that while consumer spending remains cautious, vendors and exhibitors are positively optimistic about doing business in 2011. Another highlight…
