We edited our Cash for Clunkers marketing logo after we discussed concerns that the DOT had regarding providing clear information to consumers. A number of scam website have been popping up and we did not want to be associated with anyone misrepresenting the CFC program.
Even though our marketing badge was created long before the CARS program was launched, it was decided that we should drop the "Participating Dealer" slogan. One… Continue

We created a new community site for our store and I have been hesitant to aggressively launch it becuase I do not think there is anything on there that would make people interested in signing up. I open to any suggestions and ideas.
www.mymiamihonda.com. I think I remember seeing a blog post that was titled "So you have a community site now what?" well now what?

According to updates on http://cars.gov, operated by NHTSA, the Cash for Clunkers program will not be ready to implement until Late July. The previous idea circulating on the Internet was that the program would start on July 1st.
This give the NHTSA some breathing room to get dealers registered for the program and systems in place to validate the sales information provided by dealers. Once the program is setup, car dealers would be… Continue

WASHINGTON, D.C. June 22, 2009 - The Cash for Clunkers bill gained Senate approval late week and was passed on to President Obama, who was widely expected to sign it into law, as of press time.

Google announced in mid-May they were lifting their ban on trademarked terms in ad copy. This is something with serious implications. But, are these implications good or bad? That’s the bigger issue.
While the ban is slated to have been lifted (as of 6/15), I’m not sold that it's going to last for long - if Google has, in fact actually lifted it as planned. Large companies like Apple or Lexus are likely to file a lawsuit to block others from using their brand name for profit. These… Continue

Will China Inherit the US Auto Industry Market Share; Most Likely a Good Chunk of It
Many economists told us that once China's middle class came up to speed they'd be big buyers and we'd be selling to them. Well, it does not look like that is going to happen, which part you ask? Neither, you see China is not going to develop much of a middle class for a long time, and even if they do, don't… Continue

I’ve noticed a huge jump in PPC competition since January. When I took over a local dealer’s PPC campaigns for their parts sites last year, they were spending an average of $7.50 per click for high profile keywords. Since then, I’ve dropped their average Cost Per Click (CPC) to around $0.36 per click. I also established a SEO strategy to enable them to not be so reliant on paid search engine marketing. It’s now very profitable for them, but could be… Continue

June 18 (Bloomberg) -- A $106 billion war-spending bill won final congressional approval after the Senate voted to retain a “cash for clunkers” provision aimed at helping the auto industry.
Action by the Senate today sends the measure to President Barack Obama for his signature. The Senate passed the bill on a 91 to 5 vote; the House… Continue

It seems that free classified portals are changing dealer listing momentum the same way they have laid the groundwork for consumers and businesses to reach local audiences. I wonder if it is turning the tides for these high priced portals to change their models the same way we see newspapers flocking away from expensive print ads as a main revenue source. If leveraged correctly, dealers across the globe have an opportunity to ramp up their e-commerce efforts at a near nothing… Continue

The controversial Cash for Clunkers bill remains alive as Republicans in the U.S. Senate failed today to remove the $1 billion provision from a $106 billion war funding bill. The majority Democrats needed to reach 60 votes to keep the program in the war-funding bill. They reached exactly 60 after the vote was kept open for more than a half hour.
Critics feel that the cash-for-clunkers program is too expensive and might not do much to… Continue

My Dad is still driving at 85 years old and is one of the big reasons I love cars! My Dad did not own a car at all until he was he was 33 years old. Owning a car was a luxury item for a post WWII blue collar family man in the 1950's, he car-pooled to work for years. His first car was a new 1956 Chevy (pictured on left), bought the year after I was born, (HEY.. how did they get me home from the hospital?). Already a father of four girls, including me,… Continue

Creativity in the Service Department
A few weekends ago I took my vehicle in for routine service at the local dealer. As expected they greeted me in front of the service bay, opened the door for me even offered me a cup of coffee. During the check in process they asked me for my e-mail address and cell phone number and proceeded to inform me that they would "contact" me when my car was ready to be picked up.
3 hours later I… Continue

The media's constant 24 hour chaos coverage is destroying the hopes and dreams of mankind and is THE reason you find your people not motivated enough to get their jobs done. I fear the media's perpetual sensationalizing of bad news more than I do the threat of pandemic flu's, wars and a faltering economy combined. I know they say they want to present all sides and that the public has a right to know everything but notice that 95% of all their coverage… Continue
