Automotive Social Marketing Strategy Should be Included in Dealership Advertising Budgets

With the rapidly emerging predominance of User Generated Content (UGC) activity on Social Networks, photo and video hosting sites, and various types of blogs as a percentage of total consumer online activity, it would seem to be only a matter of time before car dealers realize the necessity of creating online dealership… Continue

I also get that some may view compliance as unnecessary, overrated, annoying, a waste of time and money, and downright harmful to profitability. These are perceptions and as they say, perception is reality.

Some… Continue

Not enough time in the day?

How many of you feel like you don’t have enough time in the day? Really, between answering new leads, following up with prospects, delivering sold units, managing the rest of your Internet team, making sure your inventory is distributed properly to all the sites you market on, checking with your photographer to make sure new trades are getting ready for market, WHO would. Oops I forgot one other task, secret shopping your Internet sales department. Wait, you don’t do that, don’t have time,… Continue

The Beginning of the Chevrolet Camaro

Camaro vs Mustang

The introduction of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro and 2011 Camaro Convertible reignites a volcanic war that has defined the American automotive landscape for much of the past century. For over forty years Camaro and Mustang have been battling it out for first place in America’s heart. The Mustang arrived first, staking out the pony car high ground in 1964 and remained the only one of its kind during the two and a half years it took General Motors to respond. Since…

Do You Have Old Unclaimed Keys at The Dealership?

A local boy in Rumson, a friend of my son Connor, is obessed with collecting car keys. I just found out about his collection and I have attached two photos. I had a car dealership GM over at the house this weekend and he was begging him for any unclaimed keys that he could send him.

So I was thinking that there must be thousands of unclaimed keys and old keys that may be very "cool" to add to Jeremy's collection. So if you car to make a young man very happy, send me some of…

With Competition on Search Heating Up, Don't Overlook Yahoo and Bing

Many dealers continue to put all their focus on Google and rightfully so. However, if you haven't been paying attention, Yahoo and Bing have been gaining in search volume. While individually, they don't even come close to Google's stranglehold on the market, together they still represent 31% and I would consider this a very sizable chunk. Who wouldn't want to get…

Listening to the Voice of Your Employees

I just returned from a Conference and many of the breakout sessions discussed the need for businesses to focus on “The Voice of the Customer”.

This seems to be the new buzz phrase and I heard many different ideas on how a company can achieve this.

1. Utilizing Social Media to monitor what your customers are saying about your company or your products.

2. Listening to recorded calls, hearing where customers are interrupting your agents in order to…

Automotive Dealer Social Media Introduction

The search engines function like nature. Well structured and well adapted pages populated with original and relevant content, planted in the right soil, over time, will thrive. People, consumers, are on the internet based on the need to seek pleasure or the need to resolve pain. The pain component has to do with searching for and finding answers to questions – solving personal problems or finding more information and a great deal on their next car.…
