Today, Facebook is launching a deals program similar to those on sites like Groupon and Living Social, testing offers in five major cities across the U.S. These deals will include major discounts and exclusive offers for tickets, passes, and more. People can then share it by “liking” to potentially get greater discounts if friends buy into an offer. Although this program is still in a test stage, once released in all areas it will have great potential for…Continue

Last night I saw the final version our our first PCG Pit Stop video and I was taken back that I looked older than I perceive myself to be at 49. HD video cameras are fantastic delivering crisp, high resolution. Along with that comes accurate depiction of skin shading, wrinkles, blemishes, or five o'clock shadow.
The camera we used did a great job of showing my increasing grey…Continue

Saw this come across one of my 364 alerts...
This 82 year old veteran used car dealer is still concerned about how our industry is viewed in Maine and beyond. Although his idea may not be revolutionary or a home run at the end of the day, I think we could offer up a "Thank You" for the thought and effort that this dealer has put in on our behalf.
Perhaps we could all look inward and ask "what have we done lately" to promote the positive side and (positive)…Continue

I am curious what you all have seen from any OEM where mobile devices are being used to facilitate presentations to customers, help in a selling situation or bring training to a retail associate?
Think iPad, smart phones etc
Thank you for all your help!
I made a promise to myself that following my next conference I would make time to properly capture my thoughts and musings and get them into my blog. That being said I had the priviliedge of attending another Digital Dealer conference and came away like I always do, filled with new insights, facts, figures and of course the opportunity to connect with some really awesome people.
Four of us headed down together, Barry Hillier, Ralph Reefke and myself, all from Dashboard/Glovebox…
Coming back from DD10 my mind is a buzz with everything I learned, saw & heard. Me & about 1200 other people are probably suffering from information overload. Now we are processing it all, dissecting the session notes we furiously transcribed, sorting through the conflicting messages from vendors & presenters, trying to figure out what information & tools we gathered apply to us & how we can implement them to do what we all want....to sell more…Continue

Vilified, customers petrified of an industry wrought with ne’er-do-goods;
Loathed and convicted of wrongs committed by others- perhaps we’re misunderstood?
What appears to me is an honorable, loyal sister and brotherhood.…Continue

Those of us who use social media as a tool to track and utilize our influence on sites like Facebook and Twitter often find a need for the right tools to make it happen. As I spoke at the Automotive Marketing Boot Camp last weekend, the question of the "best of the best" tools kept…Continue

I taught at Brian Pasch's bootcamp, and I didn't get to everything in my class because of time, of course. However, besides ALWAYS having calls to action (more on that later), I have…Continue

The Automotive Summit Series, hosted by Thought Leadership Summits on June 14th & 15th at the Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey
Many past delegates requested continuity between Summits, so for 2011, Thought Leadership Summits (TLS) has added "Keynote Continuum" presentations as a follow-up to the 2010 keynote addresses.
At the Automotive Customer Centricity Summit on June 14th, Hyundai will return to provide an update on their Assurance, Blue…Continue

Many dealers are hesitant to let their salespeople use Facebook because they expect employees to waste too much time chatting with their friends, playing Farmville, etc. This concern is understandable when you want your salespeople to be on the floor selling, following up to leads over email and phone, and making the most of their time. But you can’t ignore the fact that the majority of your potential leads are using Facebook and it is a legitimate tool for…Continue
The Facebook juggernaut has run out of steam in the U.S. According to Nielsen Wire the unique visitors has settled in between 130M and 135M per month (lower than the ComScore data in the graph below) and time spent on Facebook each month continues to decline.
What growth there is in the U.S. is with retirees and pre-teens with a net loss of users in the 20-something demographic - basically the early adopters of Facebook are bored with it and have moved on now that their Grandparents…Continue
