Over the past several years in my current position I have effected a decrease in customer acquisition cost by over 35% thereby increasing ROI of all advertising initiatives and have contributed to the increase of customer satisfaction on many levels, including increased response rates, reduction of "on hold" time and by the department's handling of several hundred prospect and customer needs each month via phone and internet. Website traffic to all company websites has increased by over 55% and the close monitoring of third party eleads quality has resulted in a higher conversion rate of internet leads. Continuous training and motivation of staff has also worked to increase the conversion percentage of internet leads and phone inquiries to shown appointments and sales. The BDC appointments account for an average of 40% of all dealership sales, up from 20% from when I joined the team. I know, understand and execute automotive e-commerce and business development.

Thanks, I too feel sorry for the Cars.com reps, just like I felt bad for the AutoTrader reps when they were told to go bump rates or find new jobs a few years back.
It's not the reps fault but if the rep isn't honest with the dealer, they are just as liable for suffering the consequence.
We are rolling out AutoOption on June 1st to offer dealers a simple, no BS place to advertise vehicles, plus we will be the first one to incorporate digital incentives connecting with SMS (something my company has been doing with AutoCapture for 7 months now and working well).
It's just time to get back to common sense and the vendors have gotten to a place where they believe they are a 'necessary evil' that Dealers 'can't live without' but they are dead wrong.
