Rob is a true veteran of the “technology revolution” brought on by the “influence of the internet” upon the automotive industry.
Rob’s journey began in 1985 at the age of 16 as a lot attendant for a Rolls Royce, Maserati, BMW dealership in CT. In 1988 Rob entered Lynchburg College in Virginia where he studied foreign languages and majoring in Spanish.
He quickly put his education and skills to work teaching Spanish along with coaching the Varsity ski team at a prestigious preparatory school in Massachusetts. In 1994 Rob accepted a job with a Charlotte, NC based import / export company doing business in Mexico.
His mastery of the Spanish language led him to his first entrepreneurial experiment as the founder, President & CEO of a translation services company he established in 1996.
Rob sold his company after 6.5 years of successful operations and followed his lifelong love of automobiles to the Hendrick Automotive Group based in Charlotte, NC, focusing on sales & leasing to the Spanish speaking market.
He quickly identified a unique opportunity, using his education in foreign languages and his attraction to the automobile business and returned to his native New England to establish & become Director of Multi-Cultural Sales & Marketing for the Harr Automotive Group in Worcester, MA.
Rob’s skills and talents were recognized & he was quickly promoted to the position of Director, Business Development for the Harr Group and thus began a six year career and journey of perfecting the product, process & people skills needed for successful Business Development operations.
In 2006, Rob’s commitment to the changing automotive retail process and culture led him to establish, BDC in Motion, as a consultant working with automotive groups throughout the Northeast and Midwestern United States establishing strategy, developing management, hiring and training personnel for Business Development Departments using the Four Portal Approach.
