Don Massa has worked for American Honda Motor Company for over 27 years. Don started in Auto Customer Relations in the New Jersey office in 1981. In 1982, he was promoted to a District Service Manager position in Minnesota and was responsible for a 3 state area. He was again promoted to a Senior District Service Manager in the Greater Chicago Region in 1985. In 1987, he achieved the position of Assistant Zone Service Manager for the Chicago Regional Office. In this position, he was responsible for field service operations covering dealers in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri. In 1990, he assumed the Zone Service Manager Position in Irving, Texas.

In this position, Don's Responsibilities included three departments: Field Service Operations, Auto Technical Training and the Customer Relations Call Center. In 1994 he was asked to take over the Zone Service Manager's position with similar responsibilities in the larger volume Troy, Ohio office which covered dealers in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. In 1998, he was promoted to the Senior Zone Manager position in the New Jersey Regional Office with similar Zone Management responsibilities overseeing 115 Honda Dealers in five states. In 2001, he was one of 10 managers chosen to launch Honda's EXCELL Program in the New Jersey Regional Office. His new position "Zone Manager, Process Improvement"; responsibilities now included working with Dealers to improve their Sales and Service Processes, Sales and Service CSI as well as dealer profitability in all departments.


Throughout his career at Honda, Don has played a key "Trainer' role in numerous Zone Dealer annual conferences, workshops and Dealer Advisory Board meetings. He has trained in all facets of dealership operation as well as internal Honda district managers and Honda associates. He has taught Honda's interpersonal skills class (ISS), advanced interpersonal skills class (AIS), Ken Blanchard's Situational Leadership class (SLII) and others. He developed as well as instructed in training for new district service managers. He has also developed, hosted and presented at various Honda dealer zone wide annual conferences, covering a wide range of Fixed Operations Topics. In his most recent position of Process Improvement Manager in the EXCELL Program, he developed training and facilitated in the zones annual EXCELL Process Improvement Conferences and market meetings.


Prior to coming to work for Honda, Don held various dealership retail positions including Service Manager, Service Advisor and Technician.
