I just wanted to thank you for the great chuckle that I got out of this post this morning. I also re-read it to my inventory manager and she got a good laugh as well.
I will give you my two cents, and you can do with it what you…"
"Sean, I have to say I agree with you. Ultimately, TrueCar exists for a reason. That reason being is that our customer base is searching for the experience that we as an industry just aren't providing as a whole. I have used TrueCar for years,…"
"Wow! I had no idea this was about to happen, and I am in the Truecar dealer portal everyday. This would be a huge disadvantage to dealers, as I to keep track of the leads that come in through GM 3rd Party or other lead providers. I have a huge issue…"
"Marketing mix optimization is indeed a challenge. Some good points have already been shared below and I would add that clearly defining what you want out of your digital channels is a must. You also must have a clear understanding of…"
"There is an easy but slightly foggy "formula" for determining what the ratio is to your digital/traditional advertising expenditure. Part "A" depends on how digitally literate your staff is, part "B" depends on how…"
"I would segment your budget between long-term strategic marketing and short-term transactional Example - Facebook is a long-term play. We build our clients fan page with quality content posts 2x a week. We add new fans with a small…"

ADM is a Professional Network, describe YOUR Value Proposition... "Why should anyone do business with you?"
I am from the philosophy that customer service doesn't need to be dead in order to sell cars. I think that a dealership can be most successful when they adapt to meet the needs of the customers vs. forcing them into deals.
What will YOU contribute to the ADM Community?
I have worked on Internet Leads since before we really knew what they were. I started selling Nissan in Orlando in 2001 and have loved it ever since. I have recently become the e-Commerce director for Hyundai of Louisville and I look forward to the challenge.
CAR DEALER or OEM Website you recommend (ie; www.MelloyNissan.com)
couldn't agree more w/ your last comment re: the whole Jim Z. fiasco. I think you nailed it on the head when you perceived it to be a "hot button" issue.
Having 3 dealerships which compete, sometimes in a not so friendly manor,I would love to get some input on how you juggle leads, determine store assignation and deal with the inevitable ego issues.
Plan on starting a few discussions soon as soon as I can clarify in my own mind how to phrase the topic!!! Two of my I-net managers are also active members in here and don't want to rock the boat...if you can read between those lines.
Just feel we are not being as effective as possible.
Love to get your take.
Welcome to the ADM community! Having invested 25+ years as a general manager and dealer principal before "switching sides" to advertising and consulting I have learned to value input from front line "car guys/gals" above all others. Please review and reply to some of my posted forums with the confidence that it is OK to disagree. Frankly, I "borrowed" some of the best ideas that I ever had and ADM is an excellent forum to find more examples of creative genius to share with my affiliated advertising agencies and auto dealer clients. Again, welcome and get ready to listen, learn and hopefully teach. After all, that's what friends are for!
It is great to see you here... I am back in my home office after last week's Phoenix-Chicago-Dallas road trip. I am working on preparing material for an Atlanta trip on Thursday.
Despite the fact that I should be doing something else, I just had to go online to see if there were any new Automotive Digital Marketing Group members for me to welcome. I found out that I am way behind in my greeting new members.... Toil, Toil, Trouble and Boil!
I am happy to see you have joined our professional community.
Please take a moment to share some more information about yourself and your professional role. Links, blog postings, photos and videos are all appreciated.
Please note that you can upload documents into any blog post or forum discussion for ADM members to download. There are already hundreds of PowerPoints, Excel Spreadsheets, Word Doc's, PDF files and more... We would be thrilled to get you to upload a few of yours to share with the community.
It was very nice of you to take the time to upload a profile photo so our ADM members can put a face with your name... Thank you!
I love seeing yet another automotive professional and industry colleague like yourself join the ADM community... When I checked the membership section a moment ago, I was pleasantly surprised to see that we are now up to over 900 automotive sales and marketing professionals who have joined the ADM Community!
Amazing support from an amazing industry... Makes the aggravation of flying around the country with a guy sitting next to me who keeps sticking his elbow into my ribs, somehow worth it!
Thanks for helping us get to this critical mass of over 900 members. I am thrilled and delighted to see that you have joined our community... Welcome and THANK YOU!
We are looking forward to any best practices, guidance, tactics, files, photos and videos you are willing to share with us.
Also, you have full access to your very own blog web site within this community, so feel free to get into the swing of things and use this community as a means of sharing with associates, customers, clients and friends!
