Cobalt—a leading provider of online retailing and search engine marketing solutions for the automotive industry—seeks a Senior Search Engine Optimization Product Manager.
This position is responsible for product definition, product lifecycle management and internal offering launch and operational management of the designated offering/product family. The Senior Product Manager develops and advocates for the product investment business case; creates and manages the product road map and product requirements document, the launch plan, operations plan, and is responsible for monitoring product performance, operational metrics and competitiveness in the market.
The Product Manager should be able to think strategically about business issues, understand new technologies and their benefits to customers, synthesize large amounts of information into crisp recommendations that lead to innovative customer satisfying products.
In addition to being a senior professional in the Product Management organization, the Senior Product Manager partners closely with the Product Marketing team to support the market characterization and sizing, the go-to-market strategy and the marketing plan. The Senior Product Manager partners with Engineering to support release planning and program management as well as other organizations and teams for the effective launch and operations/servicing of the offering.
Product Definition - Based on marketing requirements, create an overview of the family of products included in the offering. For each specific offering, create the necessary collection of product requirements documents (PRDs) which will be used by the engineering team to build the product.
Product Lifecycle Management - Develop the offering’s road map, business case, and lifecycle definitions.
Internal Launch Management - Coordination of all activities required to prepare the product for launch including launch plan; interaction across the organization to ensure availability of resources and materials on-plan (includes product testing, operational and support preparedness and support of market launch). Define and manage the Alpha/Beta customer test plan where applicable.
Operational Planning and Management - Create the offering’s operations plan including all activities required for service and IT/IS readiness. Coordinate and monitor planned activities.
Product Performance / Operational Metrics / Competitiveness - Monitor and analyze how well the product is performing including product profitability, actual to planned revenue, customer satisfaction and market share. Look at internal measurements to determine how the product impacts the company operations and service areas. Identify competitive offerings in the market assessing their strengths and weaknesses.
