Sphinn Sucks and YOU Too can Learn About This Miscreant Community!

The Sphinn Community takes great pride in banning any new members who engage or become active in any way... When I joined in early September I did not participate, but only observed the activities so I could become familiar with what was deemed to be positive contributions... The first time I posted a blog I wrote about Social Media as an SEO tool I was subsequently banned from the Sphinn community. These people are pathological miscreant ego maniacs who are only interested in hearing themselves blather on about how awesome they themselves are. Avoid this community and social shitbag organization as if it were a pile of H1N1... Sphinn Sucks... I think I will go buy the URL!

I am glad to see that no ADM members have joined this community because last Friday SPHINN banned me from their network as punishment for creating this group on ADM... This organization is the most anti-social, anti-community organization I have yet encountered on the Internet... In plain words, SPHINN SUCKS!

Sphinn User Guidelines
The following guidelines outline policies used to govern inclusion and discussion on by its moderators and staff. Due to the way that Sphinn works, the community controls many aspects that affect the visibility and direction of a submission.
News Submission

New articles and discussion topics can be submitted to Sphinn using the "Submit" link, found on the top navigation bar.

In order to prevent the removal of your content from Sphinn, please ensure that it meets the following qualifications:

* News submissions must be related to the internet marketing industry and submitted to the most relevant topic category.
* Submissions must consist of a unique, fresh piece of relevant content written in the past 2 days.
* We do not allow the submission of homepages or site categories. The URL submitted must consist of a page showing a single news story or blog post.
* New to Sphinn? For the first week after you register as a member, you will be limited to submitting only 1 article every 24 hours until you get used to the community and how it operates.
* The "Sphinn Zone" category allows for some off-topic conversations, but must not be used for political agendas or for the promotion of irrelevant content. Submissions to this category will not reach the Sphinn home page, no matter how many people vote them and can get removed by moderators if deemed unsuitable.
* Blog posts about an internet marketer's birthday, wedding, baby, anniversary or other such topics should only be submitted to the "Sphinn Zone" category.
* Sphinn does not allow posts promoting competitions, or submissions made as part of a contest.
* Members may submit their own news stories, although this must be done with consideration for the rest of the community. Making consecutive submissions over a short period of time, or only submitting your own news, can result in all of your submissions being removed.
* Please don't submit more than two stories in a row, in order to help preserve variety in the "What's New" section.
* Often more than one news source or blog writes about a particular issue. It's OK to submit a story on a particular topic from a different source, even if another source has already been submitted -- as long as the story is unique enough to add value and bring forward new insight and discussion points. Consider joining existing discussions rather than writing about the same topic again.
* Do not submit story URLs using a short URL service. For example,,, etc. These posts will be removed and your account could be terminated.
* Do not submit stories more than 2 days old, they will usually get removed unless of exceptional quality (and have somehow gone unnoticed by the greater online community).
* only allows submissions and comments written in English at this time. We cannot currently support or moderate other languages, so these submissions will be removed. Sphinn Japan welcomes submissions written in Japanese or for the Japanese audience.
* Sphinn auto-fills the page title from your blog article into the news headline, although it usually requires editing. Please remove blog names, categories and slogans from the title, leaving just a short snappy headline. This will make the headline cleaner and easier to read. Give your topic submission a good title and description that helps others at Sphinn know what it is about. We prefer that titles be done in Title Case -- Upper Case The First Letter Of Each Word, Even The Small Ones Like And But & Or.
* Video submissions are not allowed, unless the video content is also accompanied by a summary of the main points said in the video. This is to help ensure members voting up video content actually understand what's in it. It also helps moderators who need to review for spam or quality issues. In some extraordinary cases, video content from extremely trusted sources or which has gathered much online commentary will be allowed.
* Sphinn requires submissions to contain substantially unique and valuable content. Moderators and Administrators reserve the right to remove any post which is deemed to be re-written content, poor quality or of no value. It is to the sole discretion of Sphinn staff to decide what is deemed as high-quality and valuable.

Comments and Voting

Registered members are able to leave comments on existing stories and vote up (Sphinn) or vote down (Desphinn) the stories. We ask that all members read and understand the following guidelines before getting started.

* Just as you would at a conference networking party, be polite and respectful when communicating on Sphinn. We understand that people are passionate about their work, although personal attacks, bullying, aggressive swearing and other anti-social behavior is not allowed.
* Only post a link in your comment if it directly relates to the story. Signature links and unrelated self-promotion can result in comment removal and a warning, possibly a ban.
* Please write your comments directly into the comments form provided, or in a plain text editor such as Notepad. Cutting and pasting content from web pages and Microsoft Word can often result in formatting issues and invalid characters.
* Be constructive in your comments and offer your own opinions ("Nice Article" comments add no value and can irritate other members).
* Got a story you think deserves to go hot? We recognize you might try to drum up support from people you know via Twitter, Facebook, through IM and other means. We ask you do this only for stories that you think are exceptionally deserving of attention and only after they appear to have gone recognized after several hours on Sphinn itself. Let the active community have a first crack at your story. Regular self-promotion of Sphinn stories, especially those of low-quality, can result in a story being pulled or your account terminated.

Please actually read a story you're asked to Sphinn and only do so if it merits attention. Blinding Sphinning whatever you're asked to do doesn't help promote quality content on the site.
* Using member profile information to spam Sphinn members or request votes is strictly forbidden. Doing so may result in an immediate ban and may be reported to the relevant authorities under the CAN-SPAM act or other international regulations.
* Joining voting gangs or accepting money/credits to Sphinn articles is against our rules and will receive a lifetime ban.
* The use of multiple accounts by an individual, company or group in order to manipulate voting or comments is strictly forbidden. We regularly audit voting, comments and user accounts for this activity and will immediately ban accounts seen as doing this.
* If work colleagues or friends vote for an article that you've submitted or that links to your site, please ask them to only do so if they plan to become an active member in the Sphinn community. We terminate members that only use their accounts to vote-up and submit articles pertaining to their employer.
* Please do not get offended, upset or worried if a user Desphinns your submission. Desphinning simply means that the user did not find it interesting personally, and has no negative stigma or side effect. We only ask people for a reason when Desphinning, as it lessens the chance of trolling and abuse.

User Profiles & Avatars

Please respect the creativity of others. Using copyrighted images as avatars on Sphinn is prohibited.

Also, custom badges that imitate those issued to paid members are not allowed. Please do not add a badge over your avatar that mimics or seeks to imitate the admin, moderator and member badges tha t wrap avatars at Sphinn. Doing so could result in your account being immediately suspended.

Please note that some issues are still considered on a case-by-case basis and that Sphinn staff reserve the right to take actions outside of these guidelines, if they feel that it would benefit the community as a whole.
