Keith, that was a great post and a fun discussion.  It really set the term Reputation Marketing firmly in my mind.  To me, Reputation Management should really be Reputation Management-Marketing.  Thanks for the blast from the past!

Ralph, thank you.  I was just looking for a way to market reputation.

Tom - I really like what you did a lot better... seems to snap across the page and goes faster as well... Looks good!

Ralph, that's cool.  I use something like that on my specials page to rotate reviews but I use javascript to achieve it.  I didn't know about this.  This would make it easy to use on Social Media.  Thanks!

Thanks Phil, I'll follow up with you on Tuesday when I get back from a quick family getaway!

You got it Tom! Quantity and quality are not mutually exclusive. The goal is to have both. Then you have true social influence and the ability to generate ROI as a result.

Tim and Phil, what an interesting conversation.  Quantity vs quality seems to me to be subjective to the intentions and goals of the dealership Social Media.  I agree with you Tim that nothing is black and white; there are varying shades of gray.  To me, more is always better as long as the quality metrics go along with it.  Social Media isn't mass marketing.  It's about building relationships.

Tim, that is not a shameless plug but rather the reason that I support ADM and sites like it.  Professional services and outsourced solutions to allow dealership staff to focus on today customers while still accomodating tomorrow's is a solution that I refer to and rely on - heck I even make my living for me and my vendor partners by providing it!

Base on your comments and our shared online friends and experiences I can see that you can provide the depth of resources needed to support your position on quantity vs. quality as well as my own.  Please contact me on Monday at or at my offices at Ad Agency Online - 561-962-2738 - to discuss your services to supplement my own.

After all, what are friends and ADM for!

Comment by Timothy Martell on July 28, 2012 at 4:50am

Certainly I would agree, Phil, that if both time and resources do not allow for it, you have to focus your efforts on the best shot for ROI.

I will now add my shameless plug - should time be a factor, one can always count on the exceptional staff at Wikimotive to assist in managing their social media marketing strategy!
