Viral Video vs. Conventional Placements To Sell Cars and Service.

These two applications of Video are not mutually exclusive, however, the vSEO elements vary in order of priority. Also, there are new exciting player/tools that enhance customer engagement in videos but they may not be as "virally friendly.".

For example, new technologies that allow for interactive layered videos within an encapsulated player - like Veeple.Com - are excellent ways to enhance conversion for videos on a site with invisible embedded links to "videos in videos", marketing messages, related links and additional monetization options through click through fees but certain video networks do not accomodate their player so their vSEO value is limited.

Other applications that create automated videos allowing mass production and distribution through a dedicated API with You Tube to push the "related videos" to the search engines, like Video CarLot, can virtually guarantee top position in local searches but they may lack the personal touch that it takes to "draw" a customer into the video to maximize conversion.,

Of course the easy answer is to do both, and you should, but limited staff and budgets often force an automotive advertising agency or auto dealer to choose. The problem then becomes that there is a higher bounce rate and lower conversion for viral videos that drive traffic to a site that does not move the customer further down the buying funnel - but, if they don't get to the site to see the video to begin with then all of the production or interaction values fall on blind eyes.
