This doesn't look like a discussion to me. Looks more like shameless self promotion. I would suggest that first you get a spell checker before you post.

DealerLink has won multiple national awards for being the top special finance leads provider in the industry. Don't seem to remember ever seeing you mentioned anywhere. There's some other quality companies that might take exception to your post like Interactive, ACE, Car.com and others. All are established known entities in the industry with proven track records. Before you start bashing people perhaps you should earn your reputation and have enough confidence in what you are doing rather than try to suggest that other companies are doing something wrong. Dealers are intelligent enough to figure out who does what and stands behind what they sell so don't insult their intelligence by trying to promote your little start up company. I doubt that anyone I named including DealerLink is concerned about you taking any business from them.

You are going to find out dealers today don't want to go with an unknown but prefer to do business with companies who are established and have earned their reputation. Good luck in your new venture.

No offense, but you followed up your criticism of self promotion with the exact same behavior. It appears that you may have taken offense because your company was not recognized in the comment for winning multiple national awards. I am sure your company is excellent and quite deserving. However, I have been an ADM member now for 5 months or so and I have yet to figure out a way to discuss my incredible and unique product without being chastized. In the meantime, I have failed to take advantage of the hundreds of people that I feel would love my product plus rewarded with professional, financial and personal benefits. All out of fear. I simply don't know how to go about informing everyone that may be interested in ground-breaking technology without offending someone or everyone in the ADM community. If you or anyone reading this can lend me advice on how to inform the ADM community of my software without offending others, I would be greatful. I am certain that there are many ADM member that would take interest and accept an invitation to participate in a 10 minute demonstation.

@Blair

I read this on your profile:

OREN Auto Website technology converts 100% of online dealership taffic (sic) to actual leads with OREN AutoTrak.

You may have great stuff but that is really unbelievable, unless your definition of a conversion is looking at an inventory item.

Provide value to others they will seek you out if your message is credible. Resources such as this are to share things with others not pitch products. If your here to just pitch you will fail, just like the two examples above.

Thank you for the response, Paul. For the record, I initially came to this site to learn about automotive marketing on the internet. Hence, the fact that I've been a member for almost 6 months and HAVE NOT pitched my product to anyone. However, my question is "would it not be appropriate to at least 'share' information on what the product does?" You are correct that others will seek out a good product if it provides value. But my point is they have to be made aware that the product even exists. Yes, it does seem like an unbelievable claim. It is not a hoax or a play on words. It's true. I define a "conversion" as giving the dealer a detailed report (lead) on each of the searches from every unique visitor that spent time on the dealerhsips website then allowing the dealer to send a customized message based upon the actual search. It is up to the visitor to respond or engage. Either way, the dealership is getting all of the information on each unique visitor that shops on the site and the system in which to communicate with each visitor. It's actually very simple. No tricks. And yes, you are the very first person I have told this to on this site. You can check. If you are interested in seeing how it works, I will be glad to show you. Plus, I would like your opinion on whether I need to change my definition or claims. It is NOT my intention to mislead anyone. That does not benefit anyone, especially me.

Blair,

In regards to discussing your product... ADM is not a "family" or "social" or "G rated" community. Everyone who visits this site should have some degree or level of professional interest in the car business. There is NOTHING WRONG with discussing the work that you do, the company that you work for, or the automotive, digital or marketing products that you are responsible for in this PROFESSIONAL community. Did you ever wonder what the term"Professional" actually means? It does NOT mean doing something in a quality manner, as is so often inferred... Professional simply means you get paid to do it. The things we do without getting paid are "Amateur", and the things we do that we get paid for is "Professional", regardless of quality or effectiveness.

So... Please do not feel that you cannot talk about your company or its products, in that regards there are plenty of sites for car people where the administrators try to say that vendors aren't allowed to promote their products, but in reality simply want to pick and choose which products are discussed or promoted. Which is why we let anyone discuss their company and products on ADM.

Ralph, simply stated...YOU ROCK!!! Thank you for the words of encouragement and for creating this site. Great definitions of 'professional' and 'amateur' and I appreciate you pointing out the differences. I usually don't let fear guide my decisions, but since I am still learning the digital marketing discipline, I initially felt intimidated. Your words just wiped that away. I have recently taken your advice and started engaging in this community. I sent out 100 Friend Request last week and I have been amazed at the response. I have even received a few phone calls. The first one was from New Jersey. Pretty neat for a country boy here in Oklahoma. I could kick myself for not reaching out sooner. I am working on a Blog (first one ever) which I hope will be received as informative and even beneficial to some in the ADM community. If nothing else, I would like to generate some interesting Forum Discussions. It would allow me to gain some much needed feedback from the professionals here in the ADM Community. I truly appreciate any and all advice, even constructive criticism.

Have a blessed day!
