Just saw this press release: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/sister-technologies-granted... Congratulations to them. Getting a Patent is a long process and they obviously did a great deal of work to make it happen.
I am wondering what, if anything, this means for the other companies out there that use the same process of taking dealer or third party produced photos and then merging them with voice overs, background music and scrolling text and then encoding that file into a suitable video format for internet consumption.
Anyone have a take on this?
Fortunately, there is an alternative:

There are always alternatives -- this is America. LOL! I think that Israel's comments extending shared credit to all vendors in the video vertical that have promoted the value of video following the rising tide floats all boats theory suggests that he agress. After all, what are friends for!!
PS: Just an honest FYI -- I swear no dig intended. When you go to the video link you suggested the first vehicle video selection gets you an "Ooops Message. "The page you are looking for has been moved. etc.." when you try to play the video. I grabbed a screen saver of it but I couldn't figure out how to paste it in this reply. I assume that you would want to know -- after all, what are friends for!
No worries. If I had a dime for every time I clicked on a link while I was chasing down the latest "video" that turned out to be another slide show, that had a broken link or no audio or was of the wrong car; I could retire.
I am sure that after that you spent some time looking and noticed the hundreds of cars that had video posted across multiple sites. BTW, it took less than a day to post a couple hundred cars in real video to all these sites.
Oh, and you can just paste the screen shot to a word document convert to a pdf and post, probably.

Thanks! Glad you liked it........ my girlfriend shot these clips of me this past Sunday & I put this together.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh by the way.......... you have heard of www.DouglasVWCPO.com haven`t you???? ~~ lol! That`s Douglas VW Certified PreOwned!
My admiration for what you do with video is well documented as I am on the record complimenting your personal video marketing messages. Proof of your concept is further reflected in the new mobile application that SiSTeR Technologies is introducing in 2011 that allows a sales consultant -- or Dealer, GM etc. .. to shoot a personal clip of themselves and their vehicle on their iPhone or Gen 2 iPad which can be instantly integrated into their pic 2 vid production. It can then pushed -- instantly -- to the dealer's website, third party marketing partners and Youtube. Even more uniquely, it can also be sent from the same device in a personalized video email to a customer as a real time reply to a lead. Or, the audio can be recorded to override or compliment the automated human voice sound track of the previously posted video to introduce a special offer or call to action.
Efficiency and scalability is a key advantage of technology applied by SiSTeR but obviously it all starts and ends with people -- like you!
After all, what are friends for!
PS: I look forward to showing you some of my new toys -- not all from SiSTeR -- at the 10th Digital Dealer Conference in Orlando. Our networking party is being co-sponsored by SiSTeR on Tuesday, April 19th. from 8:30 PM to whenever Ralph Paglia falls off of his bar stool. I hope to see you there!
Thank you very much for the compliment,...... I appreciate it. More than likely you will never see me in person at any of the Digital Dealer Conferences again or for that matter at any of the Dealer Conventions/Shows as the dealer principal would prefer to keep me in the darkness of the shadows with my "covert marketing operations"........
However I do wish you much success with your video product & your other endeavors.
I am able to listen and learn more than I can ever presume to teach at these events. If you would like me to explain the value of the rising tide floating all of the boats and the need -- even for visionaries like you and I -- to "borrow" some of the best ideas that we ever have I would be happy to talk to him for you.
After all, what are friends -- and ADM -- for!
Thanks Phil......... but....... that`s not necessary. Really.
Philip, Is this in the APP store? What format is it delivered in mp4, .mov? How are those Instantly pushed to the dealer's and third party sites without being re-encoded?
I have an app in the store myself, so I know what it takes. That 30% Vig is a killer, so we just give ours away.
