Professional Community for Car Dealers, Marketing, Advertising and Sales Leaders
I have a friend who works for a major automotive lead provider... She sent the following bullet pointed lists to me, and asked that I do not disclose her identity. She copied these lists out of an email that her company's newest VP (who came from True Car and worked directly for Scott Painter) sent to their internal team.
Select Affinity Partners (No-Haggle Auto Buying Program) – Zag traditional model – only premium dealers get these leads
Distribution Partners (TrueCar Price Reports)
I am posting this to the ADM Forum section to generate discussions around the topics referenced in each section and the bullet points that follow... What is your opinion or insight on the listed sections shown?
Haley Paglia has registered a special vanity domain and short-cut URL for the ADM Professional Community and assigned it to this Forum Discussion:

one perspective for sales people....if i was a sales person seeking a new job in auto sales, i would not accept anything less than $300 for a flat, i would get very disgruntled seeing truecar making more then i do!
Actually the only benefit that I can see for TrueCar is the raising of the mini from the $150 - $200 range to the $300 for new and $400 for used.
All the salesmen who work for the 5000 or so TrueCar dealers should be going to the sales managers and GMs and getting this fixed now!
Here's an email that was forwarded to me by a source who put a lead in to TrueCar . . . and it is associated with AutoNationDirect.com!

This raises more questions than answers, based on the recent discussions I've read here. Good get Keith.
Very True Joseph.....raises allot of questions not only about True Cars but allot of the 3rd party venders as well in my opinion.
is AutoUSA part of the TrueCar network?
I don't know, George. From the email I was sent, apparently in some cases AutoNationDirect.com IS.
So where did you get this inside information Ralph? TrueCars DMS?
To Steve Gamaras - Yeah... They signed an agreement to allow me to extract data but "only" for billing and sales tracking data... And, to figure out how to charge the dealer for every deal they sell, whether trueCar made a difference in the dealer's ability to sell a car or not.
Ralph, I've been following this for about three weeks now and appreciate the insite and opinions being offered. It's disappointing to see this moronic model that TrueCar has decided to follow. Undercuting the front line is not a progressive or productive way to do business. It has not only ruined their reputation in my book but also that of Zag/USAA and others that affiliate themselves with TrueCar. Our Group has decided to move away from them as well. Thanks for the insite again and keep up the great work.
Auto Dealers people need to cut up their AMEX Gold Cards, and mail them back with a note! If enough people did it it would make a HUGE impact.
