Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny is building a solar charging station for electric vehicles. As a Chevrolet store, we all know that the Volt is the only vehicle that will take a charge at this time.
My question is this, do you think the dealership will recover the cost of construction? Obviously this type of structure will be newsworthy for this first wave of dealership and an excellent talking point with potential customers. I still wonder if this will catch on across the country at smaller dealerships. Early adopters will benefit from free press and be rewarded for innovation. Will it pay for dealers who install something like this in a year?
