Automotive Digital Marketing Professional Community (ADM)

Serving Car Dealers, Internet Sales Managers, Marketing and Advertising Leaders

I saw something like this on David Kain's Community site and thought it was such a good idea I wanted to ask ADM Members to list their Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, Dealer Community and any other sites you have created which allow customers to engage with your dealership in a User Generated Content (UGC), Web 2.0 or Social Networking manner... Hey Ralph,

Let me know if this is too commercial-- I'm pretty excited about it so wanted to include it on this post.

I just hired the last of my staff for a new dedicated service at Cuneo for reputation management/social monitoring for dealers. We generate a regular blog unique to the dealership, Twitter updates, Facebook pages and monitor the "chatter" about brands while linking everything together for maximum SEO impact, following best practices and providing templates to encourage customers to review the dealerships for integration to internal processes.

We measure success based off traffic to the site and overall engagement. With the social monitoring we provide how influential each post is as well as overall sentiment.

This is a managed or unmanaged solution. Fully managed is under $600/month... which is less than just the tools would be individually.

As for social profiles, I think Walser (http://twitter.com/walserautogroup, http://www.facebook.com/walserauto?hiq=jack,lucking&ref=search) does a great job engaging and providing unique, consumable content.

Check out the way Automotive Avenues in Denver has created two primary sites online... One is for eCommerce purposes and the other is for Social Marketing and Reputation Management.

The traditional eCommerce site is: www.AutoAves.com and when you visit, be sure to point to the menu tab that says "Social Media" to see the links to their Social Marketing and Reputation Management sites, accounts and profiles.

Their online community site is at www.Automotive-Avenues.com and features close integration and syndicated content to and from their Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace and DealerRater review sites, profiles and accounts.

Automotive Avenues has done a great job of securing and routing easy to remember, branded domain names as shortcuts to various social media, Web 2.0 and UGC sites, accounts, profiles, etc. Here's a few of them:
www.AutoAvesFacebook.com
www.AutoAvesMySpace.com
www.AutoAvesYouTube.com
Twitter.com/AutoAves

The Automotive Avenues marketing team, led by Candace Taylor and Bill Green have added nice touches like customized Twitter home page backgrounds and something that i will call "Logo Mashups" where they use an image of the Automotive Avenues logo combined with the Facebook, MySpace or Twitter logo to create a branded image that is then linked to their online social media profile or account within that particular social media... I like this because it projects an image, or customer perception of having put some thought and preparation into their embracing of social networks and UGC sites that their customers use, rather than a "gotta be on that too" type of impression.

The Automotive Avenues approach, strategy and tactics are well worth checking out and considering when you develop your own approach to Social Marketing and Reputation Management.
