Need Advice from other Internet Managers on Who is good Lead provider? We have used Dealix, Auto usa, and Autobytel . We have not had great success with these lead providers. I would appreciate any recommendations from Internet Managers. Please email me heather@locklearcars.com.  Thank you

I'll refrain from the Heather Locklear question, as much as it kills me... But really, I have been using every car Listed, and have gotten good results from them over the past 6 months. Good leads, although lot overly abundant in quantity. I guess it depends on what your selling really. new cars and OEM dealers have better luck with certain providers and used dealer may find better luck in simply using Autotrader. But ECL gets me a good mix of new and used leads for my store. In all honesty, that's the only true "lead provider" we still use!

Heather,

In order to get a useful answer you must also ask for what area in the US. For example we work a lot with Craigslist and we kill it in laces like Seattle, Chicago, Arizona, etc but didn't do so well in Florida.

Any lead providers or website will have the same issue; they depend on the market, how Internet savvy it is, how long they have had a presence there, their local partners, etc.

True enough, and as a side note...check into your providers parent company. a lot of times these providers are all owned by the same company, and all you get is recycled leads from one sub-company to the next. not only are you getting the same quality leads from all of the companies, but a lot of times you're paying for the same leads more than once. we had that issue with a company we used in the past, and while they're still around...they aren't on our payroll! I actually have a friend in Boise that is starting a very interesting automotive lead source. He's sending out teams to go door to door, like the guys that sell windows, and inquire with people about their current automobile. Then he's going to be sending that lead to whichever dealer in that area is signed up. exclusive leads, that have spoken to a human and expressed interest..seems like a better quality lead to me!

Bryan,

That is not a side note, that is a great point.

Sometimes a dealer will fire--for example--Autobytel and go hire--for example--Dealix. If Dealix doesn't have leads in that are--they will take the contract anyway--and just call Autobytel, but their leads, and sell them to the dealer for a small cut.
