Looks like Google's putting more effort into abbreviation matching!

So lately I've noticed that Google is putting more effort into effective abbreviation matching! Google mb of tacoma, and you see our larsonmercedes.com site in the #1 position. This is matched to mercedes benz. Another search that abbreviation matches is dlrs of washington, the #1 spot is automotive.com matched to the keyword dealers. This makes for an interesting approach in search engine optimization... Matching a few abbreviations like dlrs that a few other dealer sites don't! I'm sure Google has a huge database of abbreviations to keyword or keyword phrases! Google some abbreviations for your dealer sites and tell me what you come up with!

Permalink Reply by Ralph Paglia on November 2, 2009 at 5:31pm: Brandon - You must be right because I have seen that Google is highlighting tghe abbrevations on searcg results listings, just like they jighlight the keywords searched that appear in the results. If you do a search for "Automotive Digital Marketing" and then do a search for "ADM Professional Community", you will see that the ADM initials show up in bold for both search results.; ▶ Reply to This
