Hey there - Well.......

We all have pictures of our used inventory on our sites, but I thought you might enjoy seeing how we "enhance" our potential customer`s "Vehicle Details Pages Experience" utilizing Video.

This is how we use Video at the Douglas Auto Group;

Ken,

     I've seen a lot of dealer videos, and you are hands down, the best at what you do!  As a former IM, I can appreciate the time/research it takes for you to produce your vehicle videos.  Keep up the great work!

@ David - Hey thanks a lot........... it`s nice to hear someone acknowledge how much work is involved creating these sort of clips. I appreciate that very much. I really posted this discussion just trying to enlighten the ADM community members how you too can enhance your own Vehicle Details Pages, rather than just use static images. I obviously realize this isn't anything overly new, however I just wanted to show everyone what can be accomplished if you just roll up your sleeves and dive in and do something like this.

Hey Ken,  Your videos are nothing short of spectacular!  They're so good, I think the viewing them may be proof of "Divine intervention"!  Honestly, you should be praised day and night for how wonderful they are! Fantastic doesn't even begin to describe them!  Genius videos from a video genius!  ...Is that what you want to hear?

Not the agenda at all............. 

The idea by starting this discussion was to hopefully inspire some younger(maybe even older) folks working in dealerships to take the initiative to utilize and hopefully see the value that is added by creating some decent walk-around videos for their websites. It`s about enhancing the prospects overall on-line experience that will hopefully move them further along in the sales process.

Absolutely spot on Ken!  It's allowing them to do the one thing that's absolutely needed for the buyer to do, and that's assume ownership!  If you effectively list your inventory online, it will do most, if not all of the selling for you!  When buyers contact you, they're ready to negotiate!

@ Dave DeSantis - Many times when customers are interested in one of the pre-owned vehicles, upon reviewing the clip much apprehension is already removed when they visit Douglas VW or Douglas Infiniti. Videos are just a tool, not a means to the end sales-wise, but a very effective tool when used correctly.

Cons? 

I had a hard time getting back to the VDPs on my iPhone and it was very frustrating. I would check the bounce rates your getting from smartphones.  

Also the videos are not optimized:) You haven't optimized the videos yet,  you will when you get time to do it.

Lastly, the videos on your site are not video micro-formatted. Ask your seo company to do this, it's very powerful!

Hi Manny - Yes.... I do indeed use the videos on the Specials pages too.....(but there`s only so much daylight my friend!~ ha! ha!) ....... Sooooooo I do what I can when I can. 

Yes...... they will be optimized as I did do a few already. 

This Video micro-formatted does have me very intrigued........

Your the best when it comes to real video walk-arounds!

It takes lots of work in time! 

Hi Manny - Yes indeed............ there is a lot to it to really make an effective video. Time is a huge factor. I can shoot these clips now & upload one in about an hour & a half from start to finish. I believe the effectiveness of a properly made video more than warrants a dealer to be creating his/her own in-house clips. Yes..... vendors certainly offer a nice alternative if a dealer doesn't have the right personnel at their dealership that is capable of creating quality videos. The humanization is a key element................ People like to see people if videos.
