First of all I recognize that the online automotive customer is particularly price sensitive and will shop you.  That being said how important is being the first person to respond to a lead from a place like Cars.com or Autotrader.com?

The reason I ask is that I work with a company that specializes in providing speed to contact on non exclusive internet leads.  We have a lot of success in the Insurance industry but I have begun to wonder if we could work with Internet Auto Sales Managers too.


Essentially what we do is automate an inbound call to our clients within 10 seconds of a prospect filling out an internet contact form prompting our clients to live dial out to the sales prospect.  Making sure you get back to the potential sales lead within 10-15 seconds and making you first to reach them and hopefully get them into your dealership to earn their business.  I do want to stress that all of the automation is on the sales side; we do not voice broadcast or robo-dial the lead for you.  The first contact the lead receives is your live call that we prompt you to make.


Does this type of service seem like it could assist you as an Internet Sales Manager in the Auto business or not?  And if you can think of any reasons why or why not I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts.  I've begun contacting Internet Sales Managers at auto dealers and found some interested parties but haven't implemented our system with any of them yet.

Studies have shown that the first person to contact the propect has the greater advantage over getting them into the dealership. It's very important and most ISM's should know the studies recently published that confirm it.

Thanks for the reply Randy!  I would love to hear what more internet auto people have to say about this topic.  I've been starting to call on some auto dealers and actually did my first demo for one the other day and he seemed to like our service.  I have a call with him today, he pitched his GSM who makes all the marketing decisions.

I am wondering if you have any links to those studies you are speaking of?  I'd love to take a look at them.
