Automotive Digital Marketing

Professional Community for Car Dealers, Automotive Marketers and Sales Managers

Loading... Be Patient!

I want to first of all thank Tim Jennings for a great concept... Creating an ongoing list of the best free, or next to free stuff that Internet Sales Managers, Marketing Managers, Internet Marketing Directors, eBusiness Directors, BDC Managers and Directors, Interactive Marketing Managers... (You get the idea) can get tools and resources at no direct, or little to nothing actual expense that can be leveraged as part of an automotive digital marketing strategy. As each ADM member who elects to participate lists various URL's, once Tim Jennings, myself and any ADM administrator has verified the accuracy of the URL, we will then add it to the primary list in this section... This way, we keep the list growing without ADM members needing to hunt through what we imagine will become dozens of comments and responses. Shown below is our starting point, and we request that you add suggestions for worthy free and useful stuff as comments, so that we can grow this list into a truly valuable resource!

OK... Just so there is no bitchin', let it be known that this list was scrambled around a few times, and other than our host at the top, there is no particular order... But... That could change!

So, enter your favorite source for free information, goodies, services, or anything else that you use to help sell more cars in a comment box below.

Not sure if you all have heard of it, but you ought to check out Dimdim. It's basically a free web conferencing suite. An ISM/ISR can set up a meeting online, and then share their computer with a customer. It would come in especially handy for appraising vehicles online together, or going over payment options.

I am a big fan of transparency. I wish I would have had a tool like this at my disposal while I was selling cars!
Technology Blog
This blog, hosted by David Pogue of thge NY Times, is a great resource to keep informed and to research the latest technologt trends, gadgets, and more. There is also a weekly newsletter that you can sign up for to keep you on track.

Ok, how about free Videos with SiSTeR Technologies Video CarLot - http://videocarlot.tv . They offer a 5/50 program with no contract and no set up fees to take up to 50 pre-owned vehicles from a dealer's site and produce individual videos built from the pictures already posted on their site as well as then taking 5 of those and placing them on YouTube through their "PushTube" feature to gain a vSEO position.

Also, how about a free automotive advertising evaluation/consultation by Ad Agency Online, L.L.C. at http://adagencyonline.net - no sales pitch - no BS. After all, what are ADM friends for!
Please add http://www.easyautosales.com/ to the list. We are a complete automotive resource for buying, selling and researching cars. Also do a lot with dealer as well and have been re-vamping our products list.
www.dealerassistnow.com allows IM's or Owners a place to share well written sellers notes/comments within the community. You have three choices - Search for a comment - Share a comment - Request a comment and the daN staff writes it, places it in your account and even sends you an email letting you know it's been done. It has a click to copy feature that allows the right amount of data to be added to Cars.com, AutoTrader, Cobalt, Carsoup, Dealer Specialties, or even your own website to feed back to your advertising sources. daN allows you to have a 50 character tagline that wraps the shared comment to make it look like your very own with your call to action. daN does not add any phone numbers so it does not skew your call tracking numbers from your marketing vendors. It's free, use others comments or place your own in your very own library to be easily accessed at anytime. Face it, with thousands of vehicles out there and hundreds of thousands of variations makes it near impossible for the average car person to know everything. With daN, you have access to your peers across the nation. daN offers file sharing for ANY vehicle ever made - this is Created by CAR people for CAR people - give it a try!

Tim, check out http://www.Ralphertising.com which I used at Synergy Sessions to give attendees an easy shortcut URL to get to this ADM Forum Discussion... And, once again I am posting to ADM from 39,000 feet in the air while flying on Delta from Atlanta to Detroit.

Free Social Media Marketing Tools are available all over the web... There are many tools available at little to no cost that you can use on your blog or to build a better dealership community site first, and then start connecting with social media sites using syndication tools. Listed below are several more low or no cost Social Marketing Tools.

twitterfeed.com

Twitterfeed will help you to expand by creating updates that are automatically fed by your blog, community site or even a car dealership web site. First you must have an RSS button on your blog or site to accomplish this. Once your blog, community or dealer web site is established, ensure you have an RSS badge. Once you have done that when you click the RSS badge you will find a URL that is a FEED and all you need to do is copy and paste the feed by adding it to twitterfeed. The account is free and easy to use. So sign up today for this Social Media Free Tool.

socialoomph.com

Socialoomph is widely recognized as one of the best social marketing tools for Twitter. Schedule you tweets, save your tweets, draft your tweets, Schedule tweets — Plan, set & forget! Track keywords on Twitter — Empower yourself! Save and reuse drafts — Save hours of typing! Send welcome DMs to new followers — Automate! Bit.ly URL shortening — Track those clicks! Follow those who follow you — Automate! Unfollow those who unfollow you — Automate! Vet new followers — Semi-automation! View @Mentions & Retweets — Multi-account efficiency! Purge your DM Inbox — Keep it tidy! Personal status feed — Your own tweet engine! Unlimited Twitter accounts — No charge! Yup... All this Tweetness for free, can you dig it?

twittericon.com

Twittericon is for car dealership Internet Sales Managers or marketing directors who want to put a "Follow Me" or "Follow Us" on Twitter Icon inside their blog, community or even their car dealership website. All you do is plug in your Twitter user id and voila'! You get a slick little bundle of embeddable HTML code to copy and paste into your blog, community or dealership website. You can even use this tool for your dealership's Facebook Fan Page by searching Gigya (my stuff) application in Facebook and paste in the code and publish to your website.

addthis.com

Addthis.com is awesome if you have a blog, community or even for your car dealership's website. Why? Because you want to increase traffic... AddThis automatically optimizes itself for each person who visits your site. Every person shares differently, so AddThis custom fits each menu with the services they’ll normally use. For example, if a user shares to Facebook and Twitter the most, they will be presented with those first. This logic ensures that your content is always one click away, because the right service is always tailored to the right person. It is easy to set up and takes only a few minutes for car guys with big fingers to do... Less for people who can type, copy and paste faster than me!

feedagg.com

Feedagg is a popular social media marketing expert favorite of favorites. It is easy to add your RSS feed and of course free to use. Feedagg is already optimized for search engines. There are several reports from bloggers that have used Feedagg for their RSS feed and found their sites on the first page of Google. This has not happened to me, but I am a klutz compared to some of these so-called social media ninjas out there. All you need to do is add your RSS feed to Feedagg and your all done. Just make sure to keep building content on your blog, community or web site and don’t stop.
