Ok I am trying to figure out if I should add a page to my face book for my dealership or start a group? I see dealerships with both. One dealer will have a group and one will have a page? Any best way practices??

Im not clear if the majority of the Facebook page recommendations are in favor of usig a "page" meant for a person, or a "page" meant for a business? Please clarify.
Facebook's terms of use are pretty clear that for promoting a business you should use a "Page" and not use the business to pretend to be a person. That stands to reason especially in light of social mores. The community expects people to be people. Having your business to act as person in many way is misleading to the community. Further, it illustrates to the community that you as a business are willing to bend rules, and that certainly doesn't build trust.

Build a fan page for your business. That's the right and correct way to do it. Build it in the spirit of listening to the community more so than in the spirit of using it as tactical marketing tool. It may very well become that - but it will do so only when the community feels it can be heard through it.

Cisar I hope this helps. Don't hesitate to reach out for any more detail around the facebook topic. I'd strongly recommend Tamar Weinberg's book - The New Community Rules: Marketing on the Social Web. You'll learn a lot through that book - it's SPECTACULAR.

If you get a chance drop us a blog on as we update those visitors with new ideas as well, or you can become a fan of ronsmap on our facebook page.

Good luck!
