What is your opinion of your local window sticker guy pricing your used vehicles for your stickers on the lot?

Depends ....A few questions . Will you have the same price on the stickers as on-line ? Do you do stratigic markdowns ?
I beleive it is best NOT to price the stickers . 80% will go online to research price . If you have to mark the car down after 30 days you will have to then change the stickers .

A lot of states have laws requiring the window sticker prices and the Internet prices to match. In this case most dealers should probably print their own stickers so they can make sure the two are always in sync.

Many dealers have different philosphies on how they price thier stickers and states have different laws, but let me ask my question a different way.

Do you think it is a good idea to outsource the control of pricing your stickers, or do you prefer to determine your own prices?

Do dealers actually let an on-the-lot service determine prices for the dealer?? If that is the question, I don't even understand the reasoning. I have only run into dealers managers who do don't want to price at all because they think they have more control over the deal to make money even though most people are online, saw prices and thats what brought them in.....or they go home, get on the computer and find the price anyway.

I do understand to Tims point about having to reprint though but for those dealers doing their own pictures, this is again another benefit and cost saver.

Law or not, I think the best practice and what adds trust for the consumer is when, not only do they see a price on the sticker (they have nothing to hide, the price is there, its priced right, its straightforward, we don't have to worry about if the salesperson is going to lie about the price, etc, etc.) but they also see it online and it mirrors the prices online.

I think the trust is the biggest factor here and I KNOW all of us hear customers ask why don't you prices the cars, I hate that you don't have prices on the cars, etc, etc. This used to be what you found online but now the rarest of rare are the only ones who don't price online. Shouldn't we do the same on the lot?
