Loading... Be Patient!

I have had the, I guess you would call it priviledge, of developing several business plans for my dept.  It was a way I found that I could get the attanetion of my GM and owner, and at the same time, show them how serious I was about my money and theirs.  The reason for this post, is to find out if anyone could use some help developing a plan for their dept.  I would just like to see if it was just something that I thought of, and no one else ever has, or would it be beneficial.  Please let me know.  i can psot copies if it is needed.

BTW, most of the ideas are thanks to guys like Joe Webb, Ralph Paglia, Phil Zellinger, Tim Jennings, and Timmy James.  Thanks guys for all you do.

I think many of us have made business plans for our departments. If we don't who in the dealership will know what we are doing. I have used several tips from Ralph's files over the years.
I am moving to a new position and will be re-writing plans for four stores (7 ISMs) and starting new plans for two new stores.
I am looking to take some steps away from the old school ISM/Internet department model at my larger stores. I would love to do it across the board but need better buy-in before I spread it out further.
Thank you for the positive mentions... I have used various documented business plans as an eBusiness Director and as a consultant to many dealerships. Documenting your strategies and then itemizing the tactical details, including the costs and projected returns is a much easier way to get buy-in than trying to do it 100% based on verbal discussions. I recommend to every Internet or BDC Director that they document as much as possible so there are reference materials for use with new employees, at meetings and to keep the dealer on board!
Copies of that would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I am constantly at odds with our desk and the ever changing ideas of which leads should be paid out on and which should not needs to stop. I have been asked to devise a plan and there is not an internet manager at this location. So I am really at a loss as to where to start.
Here is a basic pdf of the very first one I ever did. It is mainly a q&a plan that I presented to the GM/owner. I have also included the job descriptions that I made up. These are nothing great, they were done within about 30 minutes on a whim. This is not the greatest stuff in the world, but I found out that my GM and GSM like the K.I.S.S. method. (keep it simple stupid)
