Hello to my fellow ADM members, automotive advertising professionals and automotive advertising vendors that may respond to this forum.

First, I want to go on record to state that I have invested my own money as a former auto dealer, my auto dealer client's money through my full service automotive advertising agency - Ad Agency Online, L.L.C. - and last but not least, the money of my site visitors to my social networking site - www.adagencyonline.net - in all of the highly respected inventory based websites listed in the title of this forum. It should also be disclaimed that www.EveryCarListed.Com is a valued vendor client of Ad Agency Online, L.L.C. and a preferred automotive advertising vendor on AdAgencyOnline.Net.

My challenge is that I am responsible to place my own agenda aside when counseling and comparing these various solutions for my auto dealer clients, affiliated automotive advertising agencies and site visitors. I am responsible to advise my friends and clients on how to maximize the R.O.I. for every automotive advertising dollar in today's challenging times. That is the reason for my writing this post.

Based on your experiences - of course I already have my own which I will contribute in response to your replies - WE would greatly appreciate it if you would be so kind as to share the best and the worst of the sites listed in the title - AutoTrader.Com, Cars.Com, eBayMotors.Com, EveryCarListed.Com and any of the many other available sites that are out there.

I advise my clients to diversify their investments across multiple vendor partners, however, each has their own strengths and weaknesses and I would appreciate your insights as to what they are. Frankly, I hope to get a reply from my friends at Cars.Com and eBayMotors.Com - yes Don Crawford and Clayton Stanfield, I am talking to you and even Chip at AutoTrader.Com - HELLO!

Please use this forum to describe your strengths and defend the expressed weakness - which I am sure will surface - so we can all come out better informed than when we started.

After all, what are friends for!

Hi Philip:

Well, since you called me out by name I'll respond on Dealer.com's behalf.

I don't quite understand how we can be compared to AT.com and others because we're not in the same business. The businesses you listed are classified inventory aggregators and listing providers. Dealer.com is an Internet Marketing Provider specializing a dealership websites, SEM/SEO, Lead Management, and Reporting Analytics. How about inserting Cars.com into your title and re-posting? ha!

As far as we're concerned, it isn't our place to talk negatively or point out weaknesses for the three vendors you mentioned. There are so many factors that effect the performance of any given listing provider including market conditions, dealership follow-up etc. and we hear success stories for all three sites all the time when we interact with dealers.

I think all three sites have a valid place in our space and we wish them all continued success!

Hope all is well and keep up the good work on behalf of your dealerships.

Thanks,

Hey Mike,

First - you are absolutely correct! I had a list of vendors to review from input from my agencies and I transposed you and yours with Cars.Com. Notice that I have already corrected the post. I know that you thought that I was perfect - sorry to dissapoint you!

That said - I still have to evaluate Dealer.Com vs. VinSolutions vs. Cobat vs. eCarList vs. BZ vs. ??? which will be my next post so keep tuned in!

PS: I like Dealer.Com too so maybe we better get you back on our Automotive Advertising Experts ahead of the forum to start the process! Call me booby! !

Also, no need to be politically correct on ADM - just tell me what you think! I am sure that you can contribute what you see as the differntiators between the sites listed. After all, you are a fellow car guy and you know more than most so I still would appreciate your opinion on this post. After all, what are friends for!
Thanks Phil:

How about you put me in front of those agencies you mention personally? We should talk about the agencies you work with and how Dealer.com can be more proactive in your space. I left you a voicemail message. Give me a ring back when you have some time. 888-807-9119

Thanks!
