Hello Alvin,
Check out www.chicago-toyota.com and let me know what you think.
I, officially, do not own it, an SEO and internet guy I know does, so any pricing he offers on there, I'll honor for his/our microsite viewers only.

Is this an advertisers site? Are you on it as a link? Please explain and I will give you some feed back.

I paid for this to be built and it is just ours. We placed all dealer names in the area on their to appear more reputable, but only link to ours. Until the MFG gets on us about it (and I am not sure if they can as I commissioned the site, but don't own it) I will keep it to myself. If someone starts complaining...heck, maybe I will sell "link-property" to the other dealers. We are only getting about 3-4k hits a month and this particular one has only been up four months.
If you want to see my very favorite microsite (which I designed and provided the artwork for, and Dealerskins built for me) www.creditlodge.com
I use this for special financing. I feel it is honestly good enough to put tv and radio ad dollars behind, but we haven't marketed the site at all yet.
Let me know.

I have 6 micro sites for Jim Glover Chevrolet and they work very well worth the $xxx.xx I paid to have them built, of course I had to buy the URL and have it hosted. In the next 30 days we will put up five more Such as www.CHEVROLETCAMAROTULSA.COM These sites do so much for the sites they link into and they are very addicting. I would suggest as Alvin has said "dealers what are you waiting for"

Frank,
Thank you for understanding! I took a look at your Micro Sites and I was wondering, how much traffic you are getting to those sites? Are you spending any money for SEM or is it all Organic?

I also noticed that there is no submission forms on your sites. I understand that you have numerous links back to your main site, but it would benefit you to have at least one submission form on each site.

If your sites are working for you, which it appears they are since you are buying 5 more. I am happy to see that you get this digital marketing media.

Alvin,

I think you and will differ on the purpose and use of micro sites, as I do not have a submission form but the next ones I build just might. I built these sites for SEO purposes for www.jimgloverchevy.com for instance I needed our website to show up for search terms for special financing and now it does along with the micro sites. In this market I have not had to do much in SEM but that is changing for many reasons, so those micro sites may have to change up a bit. I am still deciding what to do. I have learned from your examples and Ralphs, and what I have read throughout the Internet. I am happy with the performance of My sites but there is always room for improvment.

Are your bringing in SEO traffic from this site or are you promoting it with PPC? Is the $595 a one time fee or is there a monthly cost?

We are working on some video overlays for our micro websites to see if we can increase conversion rates. Take a look at our site here and see what you think: http://www.usedcarsforlessonline.com/

Thanks,

Great Question! I promote all my sites with good SEO. As you know SEO can take time before you get the page rank you desire. With impreza-wrx-sti.com I am also using PPC to drive traffic to the inventory page of the site. I like to drive my prospects to what they ask for when using SEM camaigns.

I also have 2010CamaroSocal.com and at this time I am only going with SEO to promote because the car is not going to be out till this time next year. This should give this site time to rank high in search results.

I have to say I like your Sites, all of them, I check them out from time to time. When it comes to Micro Sites you guys are on the ball!

My $595.00 fee is a one time build fee. I charge $14.95 a month hosting for each site!

I worked for Folosm Chevrolet a while back for a short time, I spent most of my time at Mike Daugtery Chevrolet from 1995-2002 before moving to San Diego. Do you work at the store or do you make these sites for the store?

Alvin,

I currently work from home as an independent contractor. I normally have several SEO projects going at the same time, but am exclusively working full time on Folsom Chevy (2 main websites and about 35 microsites) right now. The ad budget has been trimmed back significantly and website lead generation is going to be the major focus until car buying traffic returns.

I am focusing efforts on capturing the local market for used cars and automotive loans. We are currently promoting a few new sites such as http://www.sellusyourride.com which aims at offering to buy used vehicles and of coarse trying to sell a replacement vehicle if possible. Also, we just added http://www.usedcarsforlessonline.com to generate used car leads (with the option to sell leads we can't provide the vehicles for).

Is anything working for you in the San Diego area?

I will try to keep this blog updated on results of the new micro sites in the future.

Thanks for the reply.

I feel you! I have been trying to figure out how to generate more leads from our websites, nothing seems to be working at this time, because of the market. People are going to the sites, however they are not submitting leads. When I say leads we are not even getting phone calls from the sites.

I feel that we are facing another change with how people shop for cars! This is my theroy.

Prospects are doing there research to find out more about the cars they are interested in, they are going to multiple sites to get reviews, specs and pricing information. When they have done all there research, they now got the manufature sites or our microsites to see who has the car they want. when they find the car they want rather then submitting a lead to see who will give them there best price quote, they just go to the store who has the car they want.

I say this because they have done there pricing research, they know what invoice is and they just go in and make the dealer an offer on the car they want! They do not need to submit a lead, to get e-mails and phone calls from multiple dears.

My point is all dealers still need to have Micro Sites for brand awarness and branding!

Lets face it, the internet is advertising.

The more brand awarness and branding you have the better chance you will have at capturing more prospects.

P.S. Are you going to the JD powers seminar in Vegas?
